Agarwood (also known as agarwood resin) is a natural material created from the resin of the agarwood tree. Agarwood tree belongs to the family Thymelaeaceae and mainly grows in some tropical and subtropical areas, such as India, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Southeast Asia.

Agarwood resin is created when the agarwood tree is damaged, split or cut off the outer bark of the tree. When injured, the plant responds by secreting a resin to protect the damaged surface. These plastic pellets will then gather and make into agarwood.

Agarwood has long been used in many different cultures and religions because of its distinctive scent. It is often used in religious ceremonies, festivals, worship, and rituals in Asian countries. Agarwood is believed to bring spirituality, purity and purify the air. It is also commonly used to indulge in moments of relaxation, aid in concentration and reduce stress.
